MadVR setup for HDR UHD Dynamic Settings for all HDR TVS mastering NITS
Update: Make sure the resolution in MPCBE is set to 29.o76 not 59hz or you will get a ton of dropped frames in madvr. To check press control J to view. Add entries for 24p (fps) example 2324.99 to get 0 dropped frames for movies! You can use Madvr(buggy) or Mpcbe(works perfect) to do the frame rate switching. Just DONT USE BOTH!, one or other. For hdr users go online and fins out your hdr candle nit adv. And set it to that. I set mine eventually to 390nits as this is the max hdr light level for my TV. Havin control over local dimming makes pixel shader math a must. It is actually better to set TV to bt2020 and madvr to pixel shader math and your max nit level for you panel then for hdr to turn on on your TV. I know this is as backwards buy you get the nice colors and light levels but are duller in hdr mode!
In mpcbe set 2324p in the fullscreen options to trigger the tv to 24hz for uhd movies……
Managed to get HDR levels on my HDR TV which is rated at 418nits in HDR mode. This is how I did it! The results match my Samsung HDR player now…….. Rule of thumb start at 120nits and work your way up. I can go as high as 418nits as my hdr tv supports this. Other tvs may even go higher!

MPCBE 64bit Latest offering
Windows HDR tab off and display set to 1080p (For normal desktop viewing)
MPCBE switch UHD resolution on playback to match 4k source
Lav audio used for dtshd truehd dts ac3

Lav video filter BLOCKED to allow internal hardware acceleration of MPCBE (LOW) filter to run smooth acceleration and deep color

2/ Trong các Video mình có nói rõ và nhấn mạnh là TUÂN THỦ FAQs chứ không hề nói nếu bạn gặp lỗi hãy tìm lỗi trong FAQs. Vậy tuân thủ FAQs là gì ? Tuân thủ nghĩa là ĐỌC và LÀM cho bằng hết những gì FAQs yêu cầu phải làm theo.
3/ Khi xem Video thì xem cho cẩn thận, không tua không lướt nếu bạn không phải là người nắm rõ quy trình cài đặt game

Hỏi: Bạn ơi, mình đã tuân thủ FAQs nhưng vẫn báo thiếu file Dll thì làm thế nào ? Có nên Download file Dll trên mạng về máy không ?
Trả lời: Tuyệt đối không được Download bất kỳ Dll nào trên mạng về máy tính cả. Lỗi máy ra đó tôi không giải quyết được. Còn vấn đề đã tuân thủ FAQs mà vẫn thiếu Dll là chuyện TÀO LAO. Không có 1 lý do gì mà tuân thủ FAQs 100% mà thiếu Dll được. Đã tuân thủ thì không bao giờ thiếu bất kỳ 1 Dll nào
Hỏi: Bạn ơi, mình Download về nhưng giải nén nó báo lỗi thì làm sao ?
Trả lời: Thì Download lại. Có giải thích lý do trong FAQs rồi. Ở LND, không có chuyện nén file bị lỗi.
Hỏi: Bạn ơi, mình làm y chang như Video hướng dẫn nhưng vào game nó hiện Steam hoặc nó bắt mua game hoặc nó đòi CODE bạn à.
Trả lời: Đó là lỗi cơ bản trong FAQs. Bạn không tuân thủ FAQs thì làm y chang như Video hướng dẫn cũng = THỪA. Không tuân thủ FAQs đừng bao giờ xem Video hướng dẫn. Vô ích.

How to enable hdr tone mapping in vlc ?
Well I have VLC and PotPlayer, been using them for years and Pot still my main…
Something is wrong here, since HDR is not apply on VLC as I see them both the same when I compare HDR 4K content at my end.
Fill this guys totally forgot to fix VLC or get the latest version or something, this ain't normal and both should be able to run HDR content by default without issues or need of external codecs like MadVR.
What were the settings for madvr

exactly same thing happens if you play hdr movie on an sdr monitor then switch movie player to sdr. you dont need any madvr
DISLIKE Because it does not explain how to configure MADVR.
so vlc is close enough? one problem with VLC is it is too dark and cant be adujst while madvr you can change target nits in hdr setting

Do I need madVR if my monitor supports HDR? I am using Pot Player. Also, do I need to enable HDR in windows display settings to watch HDR videos on Pot Player? Or does the player automatically enable it if the file supports HDR?

Do you guys know what HDR actually means? It's High Dynamic Range! With these color grading it's certainly Low Dynamic Range (more contrast, and less information in the shadows).
I'm not telling it looks bad, worse or whatever, I'm telling you to change the name. 🙂

Hi, Can you share if I wanna covert 4K video from MKV to MP4, how to maintain the HDR looks ?
just so you guys know, the technik used in vlc also exists in potplayer without madvr, all you have to do is enable on the pixelshaders menu, go to VIDEO > PIXELSHADERS > enable the last four itens on the menu , the last two HDR SMPTE is standard, the other two it depends on your color profile, sop just tweak until you like the result. i dont think madvr is a necessity anymore, each new version of potplayer they are trying to be more standalone than ever, but if you put the interface in D3D11, the video renderer in D3D11 and use lav filters in D3D11 you can get 4k HDR 60fps Clean of any stutter or frame cuts, also put video buffer in 32bits if you have nvidia, it will give a better quality image, all this can make equal to madvr at a third of the cost in performance.
Question just to be sure : When I play on potplayer, I let my windows 10 hdr feature off. I have panasonic oled 4k. Am I right ?

PotPlayer wins for me just because it has theSimpleThing skin that makes it actually borderless.
Once you go PotPlayer, you never go back … to VLC (or any other inferior media player).
I never figured out how to use MadVR.
Whenever I select MadVR as the video renderer in pot Player it shows nothing but black screen. I have a i5 9300H and GTX 1650 Mobile.

Can you share settings of madvr
I have VLC 3.0.11 , and it can't play HDR 10+ or HDR 8k properly , hardware acceleration turns off. I have not come across a video player that could not play HDR 10 . HDR 10 is not a problem , HDR 10 plus , Dolby vision , and HDR 10 8k are the problem for most video players.🤷♀️
