Chinese Pop Song "大日子" (Da Rizi, Big Day) Made in Malaysia

    February, 13, 2010

    Song title: 大日子
    (Dà Rìzi, Big Day)

This is a Chinese New Year song requested by QuaChee. It's a very good song with awesome Chinese New Year atmosphere and spirit. Love it!

The song is singed by 29 Malaysia young local singers at Ipoh Old Town.
It has been widely promoting and playing in shops, night markets, radios and every corner in Malaysia.

Today is Chinese New Year Eve. I miss the New Year Eve meal in Taiwan. I hope you all get nice meals with your family. Happy Chinese New Year~~~

歌詞 簡體 中文, 拼音 和 英文 翻譯:
Gēcí jiǎntǐ zhōngwén, pīnyīn hé yīngwén fānyì:
Lyrics in simplified characters, pinyin and English translations:

    1.

    大 日子, 一 个 好 开始

Dà rìzi, yī gè hǎo kāishǐ

    Big day, a good start

    每 一 步, 有 梦, 有 坚持

Měi yī bù, yǒu mèng, yǒu jiānchí

Every step, there's dream, there's persistence

    这 条 路, 只要 有 付出

Zhè tiáo lù, zhǐyào yǒu fùchū

This road, as long as there is investment

    走 一 步, 每 一 步, 不 怕 输

Zǒu yī bù, měi yī bù, bú pà shū

Walk a step, every single step, not afraid of losing

    2.

    兜 一 圈, 又 一 年, 春 回到 人间

Dōu yì quān, yòu yì nián, chūn huídào rénjiān

Traveled a cycle, again another year, spring has returned to the world

    看 世间, 每 一 天, 不停 在 转变

Kàn shìjiān, měi yì tiān, bùtíng zài zhuǎnbiàn

Look at the world, every day, constantly changing

    多少 年, 泛黄 的, 那 张 贺年片

Duōshǎo nián, fànhuáng de, nà zhāng hè nián piàn

How many years, yellowing, that New Year’s card

    一直 留 在 我 记忆 里面

Yì zhí liú zài wǒ jìyì lǐmiàn

Always remains in my memory inside

    3.

    绕 一 圈, 又 一 年, 长 长 的 思念

Rào yì quān, yòu yì nián, cháng cháng de sīniàn

Rotated a cycle, again another year, long long missing

    这 一 天, 多 疲倦, 心 只 有 团圆

Zhè yì tiān, duō píjuàn, xīn zhǐ yǒu tuányuán

This day, so tired, heart only has reunion (there’s only reunion in my heart)

    有 了 你, 在 身边, 约 好 在 今天

Yǒu le nǐ, zài shēn biān, yuē hǎo zài jīntiān

Have you, at side, agree today (I have you at my side and agree to meet today)

    我们 牵 手 看 福 到 人间

Wǒmen qiān shǒu kàn fú dào rénjiān

We hold hands watch happiness to come to the world

    4.

    抱 一 抱, 笑 一 笑

Bào yī bào, xiào yī xiào

Hug a hug, smile a smile

    肩 并 肩, 欢呼 嘿, 新年好

Jiān bìng jiān, huānhū hēi, xīn nián hǎo

Shoulder to shoulder, cheering Hey, New Year good (Happy New Year)

    蒸 年糕 ,步 步 高

    Zhēng niángāo, bù bù gāo

Steam New Year cake, step step high (each step is higher than previous step)

    吃 得 饱, 睡 得 好, 乐 陶陶

Chī dé bǎo, shuì dé hǎo, lè táotáo

Eat full, sleep good, happy pleased

    *Repeat 1.

Dà rìzi , yī gè hǎo kāishǐ

    Big day, a good start

    道 祝福, 看 一 元 复 始

Dào zhùfú, kàn yī yuán fù shǐ

Say blessings, watch one year return start (watch another year to start again)

    这 旅途, 要 珍惜 彼此

Zhè lǚ tú, yào zhēnxī bǐcǐ

This journey, must cherish each other (We must cherish each other in this journey)

  4. @BubbleOfJelly Hi… Chinese dialects are different and sound different too. so Chinese in Malaysia in the same state communicatte with each other with same dialect such as Penang- Hokkien, Kuala Lumpur – Cantonese…Sometimes…they do mix Chinese dialects with Malay and English when they speaks.. That's the unique way of Malaysian Chinese when they speak!!! 😉

  5. @tom25757 Thanks for the reply! : )! It's nice to know. Can Chinese from different areas of Malaysia understand each other in different dialects? In other words, Is Cantonese, Hokkien, Hainanese, Teow Chew similar? Also, do they often mix Chinese dialects with Malay and English?
