Orthogonal frequencydivision multiple access, or OFDMA, and multiuser multiple input, multiple output, or MUMIMO, are part of what makes WiFi 6 so powerful. MUMIMO debuted in WiFi 5, enabling four data streams at once from separate antennas, but now, supports up to eight streams. OFDMA reduces bandwidth waste by dividing a wireless channel into smaller and smaller subcarriers to divvy up bandwidth among users.
Together, OFDMA and MUMIMO enable the most efficient wireless network to date.

Cách thức này giúp đường truyền vừa được giảm tải để chạy nhanh hơn, mượt hơn, tránh bị nhiễu sóng một cách tối đa.
Các chuyên gia cũng cho biết, theo tính toán, tốc độ truyền của modem WiFi chuẩn AC Wave 2 MUMIMO có thể lên đến 867Mbps ở băng tần 5Ghz với độ rộng kênh 80Mhz, gấp khoảng 3 lần so với chuẩn WiFi cũ cùng số lượng 2×2 Antenna; tốc độ lý thuyết thậm chí có thể đạt tối đa 6.77Gbps ở băng tần 5Ghz khi sử dụng 8×8 Antenna, tương ứng gấp 11.5 lần so với chuẩn 802.11n cũ.

Probably a dumb question but if I have a Netgear C6220 modem/router combo with 200mbps internet speed, can I use it with faster internet speeds? It is $10 cheaper to double my speed right now but I don't want to spend another $100+ on a new modem/router combo.

5G is based on MU-MIMO so it will be more and more popular
I remember that Spectrum increased my speed to 200mb/s for "free" (Bill went from $64 to $74) and claimed that my modem/router was outdated and that I need to upgrade to a "new"one that can handle the speed increase but I would have to pay $10 more a month to rent it so I just bought my own modem and router that's more recent (2015~, the modem/router that they wanted to sell me was from 2010) and my bill went down by $5.
many consider it snake-oil BS – but the german AVM with their widely-in-germany used FritzBox devices are, although in the high price segment of 200+, one of the best consumer stuff you can get here – at least in my opinion: they're easy to use once you got familiar with as no matter wich model or firmware version they're all very familiar – even old 04.x ones are still the same base as current 07.x ones – and it doesn't matter if you have DSL, cable, fiber or LTE – they're modular – so AVM just uses a different modem for the different techs but about the same router/ap for the local network
also: about any major ISP provide some version even as standard or with a very small (about 5 bucks a month) renting fee – wich, when you consider it's price, gets you about 3 years – wich is longer than standard 2 year warrenty – and, if something happens, your ISP replaces a faulty unit often without any additional charge (yes, there're some wich do charge some – but it's worth it)
yes, I know there're also other high-end devices from other manufactures out there – but I didn't had any experience with such yet – so I stick to what I know best
